Dynasty Warriors 9 Reveals Lu Meng, Jia Xu, Cao Ren, Xu Shu and Much More on Famitsu
Koei Tecmo revealed four new characters and more features of Dynasty Warriors 9 on the latest issue of the Weekly Famitsu magazine.
Today’s issue of Weekly Famitsu included a spread on the upcoming open-world Musou game Dynasty Warriors 9 by Koei Tecmo.
First of all, if you thought the publisher was done revealing the myriad of officers that will appear in the game, you were wrong. This time around we see four more: Lu Meng, Jia Xu, Cao Ren and Xu Shu.
First of all, we see different ways of attacking an enemy city, including climbing siege stairs or setting the storage ablaze to create a distraction.
A look at the map shows friendly forces with blue circles and enemies with red ones. An icon with crossed swords show current battlefield, and if you capture those areas, you can push the frontline. Battlefields include fences and towers, and you can stand on them with a bow to offer support to your faction’s army.
Interestingly, there are also small sidequests linked to the war. We’ll be able to ask a lady to distract the guards, and in exchange she will ask us to find her lost cat.
You can check out all the screenshots below, and if you want to see more, you can enjoy a batch of recent direct feed screenshots, and some really sweet gameplay. You also should not forget to read out our recent interview with Producer Akihiro Suzuki.
Of course, keep in mind that the quality is far from perfect, because all the images come from magazine scans.
Dynasty Warriors 9 will launch in the west in early 2018 for PS4, Xbox One and PC, while in Japan it’ll be a PS4 exclusive.
