Back in December, Koei Tecmo announced Dynasty Warriors 9 (Shin Sangokumusou 8), and then went silent on the topic. At last, we're going to get news in May, according to a tweet on the official account of the series by Producer Akihiro Suzuki.

Suzuki-san apologizes for the wait, and promises that follow-up news about the game will roll out from May, even if he does not mention exactly when.

If you're unfamiliar with the game, you can check out the first teaser trailer and images here.

While there is no mention of platforms yet, it's safe to assume that the game will appear on PS4 due to the fact that it was actually introduced by Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan and Asia President Atsushi Morita.

It'll be interesting to see if it'll come to Switch as well, especially considering it was touted as an open world game, which was mentioned being possible due to the power of current generation consoles. It wouldn't be the first of the historical Koei Tecmo games to jump on Nintendo's new console, since we just saw the announcement for the newest Nobunaga's Ambition game.
