August 3, 2017

Today, Koei Tecmo revealed six returning characters for its upcoming open world Musou game Dynasty Warriors 9.

We get to take a look at renders for Ling Tong, Gan Ning, Xu Zhu, Dian Wei, Guan Ping and Dong Zhuo.

The first three were actually shown at Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong last week, but now we get to see a closer rendition to how they’ll look in game.

Last week was also definitely prolific in regards of actually seeing gameplay of the title, with the debut at ChinaJoy two showcasing Guan Yu, the thirty minutes of gameplay showing Cheng Pu, and the gran finale with another 17 minutes showing badass eyepatch general Xiahou Dun. If I was a betting men, i’d put my money on a proper direct feed gameplay reveal coming very soon.

In the meanwhile, you can check out the new images in the gallery below, and if you want to see more, you can check out the previous character reveal, the first trailer, and another batch of recent screenshots, on top of one showing more of the title’s beautiful open world.

Dynasty Warriors 9 has been announced exclusively for PS4 for the Japanese market, where it will launch by the end of 2017. The western arm of Koei Tecmo has also already confirmed that a localization in English is coming, but has remained very silent on the platforms fo which it’ll release. This could possibly mean that the title might not be a PS4 exclusive in North America and Europe, but for now this is all speculation.
