Oh, the irony of things. A couple of years ago, we all recall Valve big boy Gabe Newell talking smack about the development process on the PlayStation 3, along with some other shots here and there. At today's Sony E3 conference, the infamous Gabe Newell himself appeared on the stage to announce that Portal 2 was heading to the PlayStation 3 with some form of Steam Cloud support. What makes things a bit bewildering is that Newell claims that the "best version" of the game will arrive on Sony's console. Whether or not that means they'll be half-assing the 360 version is doubtful, but that statement is pretty bold considering his history of comments toward the PlayStation 3.

Valve has also confirmed Steamworks integration in the PlayStation 3 version, which will be the only console version featuring Steamworks - providing the game with "community features, auto updates, downloadable content, and more."
