E3 2010: Kinectimals Announced

A creepy little girl stood on stage at the Microsoft E3 event to show off Kinect’s new title Kinectnimals – a game that allows you, or more your child, to interact with a carnivorous predator in the most lovable and cutesie way you can think of. What I found “adorable,” was that the Tiger – the little girl’s pet – would jump from time-to-time onto the screen to lick the screen as if pretending to kiss you. Of course, the little girl also insinuated that the Kinect will also introduce “feel” technology, as the licks the tiger was giving her “tickled,” which we all know is crap.

But aside from noticing the nice visuals, a furry little companion, and a very cheery little girl, Kinectimals looks very… well, childish. I highly doubt any of the hardcore crowd will want anything to do with petting an animal and playing fetch, unless abuse is somehow included in there. The game, from what it seems, is great if you’re one of those parents that neglect your children and want to keep them preoccupied with something other than your time.
