E3 2011: First Two First-Party and First Third-Party Wii U Games Announced

on June 7, 2011 1:15 PM

Not too many details or any gameplay shown yet, but at their press conference, Nintendo has confirmed a new Super Smash Brothers title for their new Wii U system and 3DS. They have said that the two versions of the system will “interact” with each other. Whether this is in cross-platform multiplayer or something else, it was not mentioned.

There will also be a “New Super Mario Bros. Mii” that will be another NSMB game but with Mii support, and it’ll be on the Wii U.

And the first third-party game will be… Lego City Stories by Tt Games, makers of the Lego movie games. It’ll be an open-world game featuring “action” and “humor”. Yup. Pretty disappointing.

But hey, Smash Bros. exists.
