E3 2011: King of Fighters XIII Finally Coming Stateside and Thanks to...Atlus?

By Kenneth Richardson

June 7, 2011

Fans of the cult fighting series the King of Fighters have been biting their nails for quite a while now in anticipation of news regarding the next entry in the series, which has already been available in Japan for nearly a year. The last numbered KOF game to hit the states was 2009’s King of Fighters XII. E3 has brought the news that the King of Fighters XIII is coming to the US and you probably won’t be able to guess who is taking care of publishing.

Celebrated Japanese publisher/developer Atlus will be responsible for the games North American debut, a move that’s both surprising and welcomed. Atlus has proven, time and time again, that they can bring great Japanese games to English speaking territories. KOFXIII will feature new attacks, balancing and a completely re-optimized online mode. The game will release some time this year for HD consoles.
