E3 2013: EA Finally Announces Mirror's Edge 2

June 10, 2013

After years of rumors and passionate fan demand, EA has announced that Mirror’s Edge 2 is being developed by DICE. The game is being developed on the powerful Frostbite 3.0 engine.  A trailer for the game was shown and it looks brilliant. It shows Faith getting some sort of tattoo of a map or something and then running through a building all parkour like and then finally beating the snot out of some guys. The latter segments are in first person, but there’s almost no way that this is actual game-play we’re seeing; it looks far too good.

Strangely, no platforms were mentioned for Mirror’s Edge 2, which means we can’t yet debunk the rumors of Xbox One exclusivity. Furthermore, there’s no release window for the game, but more information is promised “when it’s ready”. Either way, this is a joyous day for fans. See the debut trailer below.
