E3 2013: Magus is an Action RPG Co-developed by Aksys Games

June 11, 2013

Usually known for their localization efforts on Japanese titles that are already created, Aksys Games is taking the reins (or, at least, have one hand on the reins while Japan-based developer Black Tower takes the other) with development of a new action RPG called Magus. Magus is also the main character in the game (unsurprisingly), who has been locked up for quite a while for unknown reasons. Once he gets out, he goes on a journey – which he takes with the player, obviously – to discover his true powers and who he really is.

There’s an official site up now (but not much on it), and I’m sure more info will be coming down the line. For now, here’s a quick run-down of the game’s features from the official press release.

  • An Epic Quest for Power – Travel to dangerous lands and battle the forces that prevent you from become the god you were meant to be.
  • Unleash Blistering Attacks – The world possesses red, green, and purple magic. Absorb these colors to unleash powerful magical attacks. Everything from devastating tornadoes to shapeshifting—Magus’s abilities are sure to please any fantasy fan.
  • Evolve and Become Unstoppable – Choose between throwing fireballs or manipulating gravity—or both! Hone in on one type of magic to become the master of it or learn them all, and let no one stand in your way.

No platforms or release time frame was announced at this point.
