E3 2013: New Gameplay Trailer for The Phantom Pain Revealed at the Microsoft Conference (UPDATED)

Update: The Microsoft conference trailer has been released for The Phantom Pain, which is posted below.

The opening trailer at the Microsoft press conference turned out to be an interesting one–we finally get more footage and gameplay for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The Phantom Pain will be completely open world (like the first half of Metal Gear Solid IV) with real time weather, realistic passage of time and updates to the stealth system.

The trailer starts with Solid Snake sneaking in an Afghanistan base camp to rescue a fellow comrade by the name of Kazuhira Miller. We also get our first look at the main villain of the game, Skullface (who shares similarities with the comic book villain Black Mask). While the graphics looked beautiful and lovingly detailed, I wish they hadn’t fast-forwarded through a good chunk of the trailer because it really took away from the impact of the segment. Check out the gallery below and see The Phantom Pain for yourself.
