E3 2013: PS4 is Region Free, Cue Applause

Didn’t get enough PS4-related good news yet? We got another one. Many have been wondering if the upcoming console from Sony will be region free or region locked like it’s Xbox One rival.

Tonight we got a reply thanks to Sony’s own Brad Douglas, that went out of his way to ask a SCEI PR if we’ll be able to play games from other regions on the PS4. Thankfully the answer was a clear cut “no region locking” as you can see in the tweet below.

Can you hear the thunderous applause? It’s coming from all those gamers that love to play Japanese games even when they (regrettably) don’t get released in the west. My hands are on fire.
