E3 Won’t Bring Any News About Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III; Development Proceeding Steadily

Looks like Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts fans will have to look beyond E3 to receive new information on Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III, as mentioned by Producer Shinji Hashimoto in an interview on Famitsu.

Hashimoto-san explained that development for both games is proceeding steadily, but Square Enix would like a bit more time before spreading more information about KHIII, and judged the timing not to be right at E3 for FFXV.

This conflicts with what Hashimoto-san reportedly said at Comic Con Thailand, but Hashimoto-san specified that it was “a misunderstanding,” and he could not talk yet about the game’s presence at E3 at that time. This seems to indicate that the decision to have the hotly anticipated JRPG skip E3 was taken fairly recently.

Luckily the hot trade show season is just at the beginning, and we might hear more at Gamescom or Tokyo Game Show. For what Kingdom Hearts III is concerned, there’s also the D23 expo in the US in August and in Japan in October as possible venues for a new reveal.

Of course you can expect full coverage of whatever will be shared (as soon as Square Enix finally determines that the world is ready for their games) here on DualShockers.
