Star Wars: Battlefront has finally released to players today in the midst of what many are calling “The Year of Star Wars,” though EA has provided some updates this morning regarding some players on the PS4 version of the title having trouble accessing the game.

A new post from publisher EA’s help page for Star Wars: Battlefront has detailed that players of the digital Deluxe and Ultimate Editions of Battlefront have reported having trouble accessing and playing the game, with the error specifically coming up with the message “To use this application, you must update it. To check the download status of the update file, select [Notifications] > [Downloads] (CE-34623-8)’.”

In response to these reports, EA’s support page has addressed that players experiencing this issue in the digital versions of the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition can reboot to correct the error while the studio looks more closely at a permanent fix.

In addition, PlayStation’s support page has also provided another fix by having users restore their license for the digital copy of the game, which can be accessed by going to Settings > PlayStation Network/Account Management, and then selecting Restore Licenses. Users should then fully shut down/restart their system after restoring their licenses, and ensuring it is a full shutdown and not entering the PS4’s Rest Mode.

Star Wars: Battlefront is available now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC – stay tuned for more updates on the issue as news develops.
