According to a tweet from Dillon Rogers, developer of Gloomwood, EA is apparently distributing a survey to gauge interest in further remakes of the Dead Space survival horror series beyond just the first installment.Following the highly successful launch of the first Dead Space Remake, the survey now measures the level of interest in remakes of both Dead Space 2 and Dead Space 3. The feedback comments indicate a strong desire for a remake of the second installment, but also express a preference for more than just a remake for the third installment.RELATED: Impossible Mode Makes Dead Space Worth ReplayingDead Space 2 expanded on the success of the original game by focusing on the deteriorating mental state of protagonist Isaac Clarke induced by the alien markers across the USG Ishimura spaceship, using classic nursery rhymes to enhance the narrative and Isaac's visions, while also depicting the horror of the Necromorph outbreak. The game also introduced a competitive multiplayer mode, as well as other multimedia supplemental projects such as novels and animated movies. On the other hand, Dead Space 3 moved away from the survival horror formula of the first two games and shifted to a more action-oriented gameplay style, emphasizing co-op gameplay more than the usual single-player storyline, and included microtransactions, a decision that was widely criticized by fans. The alternate ending of the Dead Space Remake offers a glimpse into what will happen in the sequel. Without giving too much away, the ending suggests that the markers have affected Isaac's mind much more than the original ending showed.

Aside from the ending, other major changes were implemented, such as Isaac being voiced for the first time and updated gameplay mechanics that emphasize the importance of dismembering Necromorphs instead of simply killing them, as mentioned in our Dead Space Remake review, so we can expect a similar level of change if the other games get the same remake treatment.

In an AMA on Reddit, the development team revealed that the Dead Space remake was completed in less than three years, with the team starting work in September 2020. Therefore, if a similar remake is created, we can expect a new game to be released around 2025 or 2026 at the very least.
