With the holiday season rapidly approaching and the first full year following the launch of the both the PS4 and Xbox One now behind us, competition between both Microsoft and Sony will be even fiercer than ever. Though Sony has topped the Xbox One each month since release, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen is confident that Microsoft won’t be left in the dust forever this generation.

Speaking at a talk at the UBS Global Technology Conference, Jorgensen detailed that Microsoft won’t be left in Sony’s shadow entirely as he assured in a statement that “clearly Sony has jumped out to a lead with a great console and I think a great pricing strategy,” but also assured that “Microsoft is catching up quickly.”

Coming across to the claims that Sony has a nearly 2:1 lead against Microsoft so far in sales between the PS4 and Xbox One, Microsoft’s 10 million units shipped to retail this month and sales that have tripled since the (temporary) $50 price cut leave Jorgensen confident that “pricing actions that are taking place, particularly during this Christmas season, driven by Microsoft, around reduction plus a lot of bundled software, I think will continue to pull the consumer into the new consoles.”
