EA Plans to Reveal New Battlefield DLC This Week

Stock market news rag Seeking Alpha released a transcript of a Q&A session discussing EA’s fiscal earnings with a panel of the company’s executives, incidentally revealing a little bonus for the gamer not interested in the financial side of the industry.

VP of Investor Relations Peter C. Ausnit mentions plans for EA to maintain a “constant flow of downloadable content” for its major franchises, and goes on to promise that “you’re going to hear some announcements from us on Battlefield actually as early as next week in an event we’ve got in New York.”

Ausnit does not elaborate on the nature of the new content, but if the flow does indeed remain constant, warriors meeting on the Battlefield should expect next week’s announcement to be the tip of an iceberg made of new weapons, maps, and, as long as we’re dreaming big, new single player and co-op missions. As far as metaphorical icebergs go, I think we can all agree this promises to be a good one.

Sto Austin is the man. Period. When not saving the world from the next generation of Metal Gears or throwing hadoukens at his detractors, chances are he's writing about someone else doing something similarly epic, possibly whilst smoking a cigar. He enjoys games with a strong emphasis on story, which typically fall into the RPG, Action/Adventure, or Horror genres, though he also has a soft spot for fighting games and has been known, when feeling saucy, to shred on some Guitar Hero or Rock Band. He currently divides his time between Florida and Maine, tromping up and down the East coast according to the whims of fate and fortune.
