Electronic Arts has announced its official Super Bowl LVII prediction: a decisive victory by the Philadelphia Eagles over the Kansas City Chiefs. The American video game company used a simulation of Madden NFL 23 to determine the winner.

Beginning in 2004, EA has declared a likely winner and final score for the annual Super Bowl. Utilizing the most recently released version of Madden NFL, a single match is simulated by the CPU against itself as both teams. Launched last August, Madden NFL 23 features up-to-date ratings on players and generated the simulation for this year's Super Bowl.

EA shared its official Super Bowl LVII prediction on the EA Sports Madden NFL YouTube channel. The short trailer features Chad Johnson, former wide receiver of the Cincinnati Bengals, and game engine footage of the match simulation. While driving a Madden tour bus through the desert, Johnson stops when players from the Eagles and Bengals begin materializing. The scene then shifts to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, where Super Bowl LVII will take place, and the simulation begins.

The trailer starts off with predictions of individual player performances, showing them in action. The projected player statistics shown are those of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones, Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown, and Eagles safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson. Below is the full list of Madden NFL 23's player predictions:

  • Mahomes:
    • 29 completions / 39 attempts
    • 249 yards
    • One touchdown
  • Jones:
    • Four tackles
    • Two sacks
  • Brown:
    • Eight catches
    • 114 yards
    • One touchdown
  • Gardner-Johnson:
    • Five tackles
    • One interception

Finally, the trailer reveals EA's prediction for the Super Bowl's final score: Philadelphia Eagles 31, Kansas City Chiefs 17. The video concludes with an advertisement for Madden NFL 23, which is currently available for up to 70% off.

Fans of the Kansas City Chiefs should take EA's prediction with a grain of salt. Last year, the Madden NFL simulation declared that the Cincinnati Bengals would win 24 to 21 over the Los Angeles Rams. However, when Super Bowl LVI played out, the Rams claimed the Vince Lombardi Trophy with a winning score of 23 to 20.
