With all of the sporting world clamoring about the Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor fight coming later this month, what better time to give some time to some fighting games. Thankfully, Microsoft has your back — starting today until Monday, August 21 at midnight EA Sports UFC 2 will be available to play for free for Xbox Live Gold subscribers.

EA Sports UFC 2, which prominently features McGregor on the cover (alongside Ronda Rousey) released in March of 2016 to above-average ratings on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Critics have been divided on the game — in parts praising it for taking on some of the more complex aspects of mixed martial arts, and also criticizing it for being too unintuitive

If you haven’t had the opportunity to play EA Sports UFC 2 yet and it really gels with you, Microsoft is currently offering it at a 75% discount ($10, down from $40). And just like other Free Play Days, any progress or achievements earned will carry over to your main game.

This is by no means the first of the Free Play Days, with previous games being features including Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition and Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.

Not too much is known about EA Sports UFC‘s inevitable sequel, however reports from Electronic Arts’ fiscal year briefing mentioned that the sequel is planning to launch within the first three months of 2018.
