To say the launch of Star Wars Battlefront II was rocky is probably a big understatement. The launch was a marketing disaster due to them having to handle some grueling questions from their audience regarding the harsh pay to win microtransactions that were going to be included in the game. An unknown community manager was trying to put out some fires on Reddit and responded to a complaint about unlocking characters. The official response reached over 600 thousand downvotes and has become an official Guinness World Record for the most downvoted Reddit comment ever.

The record was first noticed by the Reddit user u/-amsha-. They included a picture from the Guinness World Record book for 2020 that shows the record on the Star Wars subreddit. You can see for yourself in the picture below.

The comment that the record is referring to was posted back in November of 2017 and as of this writing, it has reached 667,815 downvotes. The comment can be read below.

"The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different heroes.

As for cost, we selected initial values based upon data from the Open Beta and other adjustments made to milestone rewards before launch. Among other things, we're looking at average per-player credit earn rates on a daily basis, and we'll be making constant adjustments to ensure that players have challenges that are compelling, rewarding, and of course attainable via gameplay.

We appreciate the candid feedback, and the passion the community has put forth around the current topics here on Reddit, our forums and across numerous social media outlets.

Our team will continue to make changes and monitor community feedback and update everyone as soon and as often as we can."

It is crazy how big of a difference the second-most downvoted comment ever is. The second most has only reached 88,906 downvotes, about a whopping 600,000 less.

What is funny about this is that Star Wars Battlefront II has evolved into a pretty good Star Wars game and is continuing to evolve with new characters and maps. I'd recommend popping back in if you ignored it at launch, which I don't blame you if you did.
