Unreal Tournament is finally making its long overdue comeback and you can get a (very) early taste of it now.

Over at the community development page, you can now download an early alpha version of this new iteration of the classic shooter franchise. The page notes that updates occur several times a week if they are deemed "worthy" and that, as a guideline, there will be new builds every Friday night (released on an eastern time zone schedule).

Epic Games announced the return of Unreal Tournament back in May alongside its new Unreal Engine 4 subscription service.  The game is embracing a new, completely free structure with the development done in an open source environment with the community of developers subscribed to UE4.  This new process not only promotes the UE4 service and allow vocal fans to finally receive the sequel they have been seeking, but will also open up ways for developers to earn revenue through their work in the future.

You can tune in to Unreal Tournament's weekly stream every Wednesday at 3:00pm EST for more details and information on the roadmap of the games development.
