EDF! EDF! EDF! The fine people over in Japan have made Earth Defense Force 5 the best-selling entry in the longrunning series. The game has shipped over 350,000 copies since its launch back in December of 2017.

Back in July, we learned that the game will eventually be making its way out West sometime soon, but no official release date has been confirmed as of right now. If you’re unfamiliar with the series, you play as the… Earth Defense Force as they try and stop an incoming alien invasion. The series has been known for its larger than life enemies, and it’s over the top gameplay. It’s really a fun game that I totally recommend if you’re into Japanese monster movies.

As previously mentioned, there’s no release date for the localized version of Earth Defense Force 5. The Japanese PSN store is celebrating the series milestone by selling it for 40 percent off. So if you have a Japanese PSN account definitely consider giving it a shot. We’ll be sure to update you once we get any news regarding upcoming localization announcements, and if you can’t read or speak Japanese there are plenty of other entries already available in the west on the PS4 and PS Vita.
