After years of squashing giant enemy bugs and alien threats, a new entry in the cult classic Earth Defense Force series is on the way as shown at Tokyo Game Show.

During today's broadcast at Tokyo Game Show 2016 from Sony, Earth Defense Force 5 was officially revealed with a first trailer for the title, and confirmation that the game will release in 2017.

Earth Defense Force 5 will release for PS4 in 2017 - in the meantime, you can check out the game's first trailer below:
