Tokyo Game Show will begin in under two weeks, so several developers and publishers like Konami and Capcom are detailing their lineups for the huge Japanese event. D3 Publisher joins that group today, as they announced that both Earth Defense Force 5 and Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain are being shown off behind closed doors this year.

While Earth Defense Force 5 is already available in Japan, it will be releasing in the West later this year for PS4, hence its appearance at the event. Meanwhile, the more serious Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain will not release until next year, so the game's latest development build will be shown off. And yes, if you were wondering, this is a confirmation that the game will indeed come west.

Even though these titles won't be available on the show floor this year, those of us at home will be able to catch a livestream in order to learn more about Earth Defense Force 5 and Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain. D3 Publisher is holding the livesteam on Twitch, Facebook, Periscope, and YouTube at 6pm PT on September 19, and it will be translated live into English for western audiences.

Tons of new Tokyo Game Show screenshots were released for each game as well, so you can check those out below. Earth Defense Force 5 is coming to PS4 sometime this fall. Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain, on the other hand, won't be hitting Sony's platform in Japan or the west until sometime in 2019.
