Echo Combat is a VR multiplayer shooter from The Order 1886 developer Ready at Dawn, and it recently made an appearance E3. Today, just a week after E3 wrapped up, the first Open Beta for Echo Combat is starting.

According to the developer, Echo Combat blends fast-paced shooting mechanics, a locomotion movement system, and social elements common in other multiplayer games to crates a VR game with a lot of depth, but also mass appeal This beta begins at 10:30 am PT today, and will run until 10:00am on June 24. Of course, only people with access to an Oculus Rift headset will be able to participate in the beta.

In addition, Ready at Dawn and Oculus Studios unveiled Echo VR, which is the social lobby players can use to practice and launch Echo Arena and Echo Combat in. Once Echo Combat releases later in 2018, it will be available for $9.99 through Echo VR. Even with this added social space, Ready at Dawn confirmed that Echo Arena will remain free to play. Players can get a taste of Echo VR during this Open Beta and use it to access Echo Combat.
