Edens Zero, the new anime based on a manga by Hiro Mashima, has entered its new segment, the Sun Jewel arc. Together with this, a new trailer and a key visual have been published.

New key visual, trailer for Edens Zero anime teases Sun Jewel arc

The key visual features the glittering city of the gemstones planet, with most notably Homura and her teacher Valkyrie, one of the Demon Lord's Four Shining Stars, facing each other. Shiki and all the other main characters are present as well. Meanwhile, the trailer features Shiki screaming "I'll go meet Mother!" and showcases the fierce battles Shiki and Homura will face on the Jewel Planet.

Last but not least, the trailer also features the new opening theme song, FOREVER, sung by L'arc~en~Ciel, one of the most popular Japanese bands, and one that's been around since before most of Edens Zero's fans were even born. You can find the new trailer below alongside the key visual.

More on Edens Zero, Hiro Mashima

Edens Zero is a space adventure and shonen series that Hiro Mashima launched after Fairy Tail ended. The series began in 2018 and has 16 volumes out in Japan so far.

Just like with Fairy Tail, several characters appearing in Edens Zero are lookalikes of characters Hiro Mashima used in the past. Some concepts in his works since Rave like the Oracion Seis are also back. Lastly, as a space-themed manga, Edens Zero also features multiple references to classics such as Leiji Matsumoto's stories with Captain Harlock or Maetel.

This isn't surprising considering Hiro Mashima is like pretty much any other mangaka, a huge otaku. He also regularly shares his impressions on games on Twitter. He most notably highly praised Yakuza: Like A Dragon back in 2020.

Edens Zero also has both a console and mobile game in development. The console game is a JRPG announced by Konami and shown at Tokyo Game Show 2020 in September of the same year. Keep an eye on the Edens Zero Japanese Twitter for news.

Personally speaking, my favorite Hiro Mashima series is still Rave after all these years. You can always catch me on Twitter @A_iyane07 if want to discuss Japanese games, anime, and manga.
