Edens Zero Manga Creator Hiro Mashima Reveals Rebecca & Happy RPG

Hiro Mashima is making an Edens Zero game all by himself

December 21, 2021

While the first anime season of Edens Zero has been completed, the manga is still ongoing, and original creator Hiro Mashima just revealed a new JRPG spinoff project he’s working on.

Hiro Mashima, the mangaka of Rave, Fairy Tail, and Edens Zero, revealed he’s making all by himself a brand new Edens Zero game. Mashima first revealed his Edens Zero game through his personal Twitter, during a Space he held on December 17, 2021, as pointed out by our Japanese peers at Denfaminicogamer.

Hiro Mashima is seemingly using RPG Maker and described his Edens Zero game as a “hobby project” he’s working on during his free time.

When is Hiro Mashima’s Edens Zero game coming out? On which consoles, and how much it’ll cost?

Hiro Mashima explained his self-made Edens Zero game should be released for free in early 2022. No platforms were specified but it’s highly likely it will only launch on PC.

During his Space stream, Hiro Mashima also revealed his Edens Zero game features B-Cuber Rebecca Bluegarden and Happy. The duo needs to explore a haunted mansion. The mansion has several puzzles the players will need to solve to progress while being wary of Rebecca’s remaining HP and Blue Coins.

Fairy Tail‘s Hiro Mashima and his love for gaming

Hiro Mashima is one of the most successful mangaka out there. His shounen series are among the most popular worldwide these days together with Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia and Gege Kutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen. Besides Edens Zero, Fairy Tail is technically still continuing with 100 Years Quest too, which recently got an anime announced.

In particular, Mashima can draw pretty fast, which explains how he even manages to find the time to make a (small) game while serializing manga. Mashima also regularly shares on Twitter his impressions on his recently cleared games. Back in January 2020, he highly praised Yakuza: Like a Dragon after the game was released in Japan.

Konami is currently developing an Edens Zero game for consoles. A mobile game is also in development.
