In an on-stage demo with IGN, eFootball PES 2020 brand manager Andre Bronzoni showed off nearly a full match of the upcoming soccer title. While playing, Bronzoni spoke to a number of new features coming to the game. Give it a watch below.

For my money, Pro Evolution Soccer has almost always been more fun on the pitch than FIFA. That isn't to say FIFA is bad, I just prefer the ball movement and player fluidity of PES. If this short demo is anything to go by, that opinion isn't changing this year.

eFootball PES 2020 brings a number of improvements to the on-field play of the franchise. Bronzoni noted that they brought in former Barcelona star Andres Iniesta to consolute on the game. It shows in the improved touch and dribbling mechanics. More than ever, you'll have complete control over the ball when it's at your feet. Plus, the ball travels much more believably given the improved ball physics.

The team has also put quite a bit of work into improving their A.I. This manifests in more accurate control over where your kicks go and vastly improved defensive play. Defense, in particular, sounds impressive. Your defenders will now use tactical fouls to place the momentum back in your hands. They'll also change the style of their tackles to suit the game situation. Making for an overall experience that is more representative of what you see in real-world matches.

Bronzoni also mentioned a number of new modes coming to the game. Master League is becoming a story mode for your manager. This is the first year in a three year plan to completely revamp the mode and it sounds like something that fans of FIFA's career mode might want to check out. Matchday mode lets you team up with thousands of other players on one of two teams. Every player contributes in some way to the final score of each event, so whether you're brand new or a veteran, you'll be able to help lead your team to a championship.

eFootball PES 2020 is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One on September 10. Stay with DualShockers for all your E3 news.
