Powerchord Studio and Brownies Inc. announced that the mobile RPG EGGLIA: Legend of the Redcap will launch in the west in August for iOS and Android worldwide.

Originally released in Japan on April 13 of this year, EGGLIA: Legend of the Redcap received largely positive reviews from players. The development team at Brownie Inc. is made up of some of the most highly respectable minds in the JRPG community. Including the creator and art director Shinichi Kameoka, who has previously worked on the Mana series, Saga Frontier, and Mother 3.

In Egglia: Legend of the Redcap, players will be taken on a adventure with an elf name Chabo, who falls from the sky and lands on the continent of Egglia. Players will then need to uncover the mystery surrounding Chabo and this new land. This means developing the land around the continent, reminiscent of systems found in Legend of Mana. In dungeons players will roll dice and move around a grid-based map as they farm items and participate in battles.

As the continent grows, players will be able to explore various areas around the map. In the future new episodes will be released to expand the continent.

“I believe some people prefer their games to be less violent, especially here in Japan,” said Kameoka-san. “I hope Egglia can become a refuge for those who seek a more peaceful kind of game.”

Kameoka is partnered with executive producer Michio Okamiya, who has extensive experience at companies including Square Enix and also is a member of Nobuo Uematsu’s The Black Mages and Earthbound Papas. Additionally, the soundtrack for EGGLIA: Legend of the Redcap is composed by Yoko Shimomura, known internationally for scoring popular games including Super Mario RPG and the Kingdom Hearts series.

It should be mentioned that this is not a free-to-play title. There is a one-time purchase for players to experience the game's story.
