In a recent interview with IGN, Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma dished on the recently revealed 'female Link' character, Linkle, and her potential appearance in a future Zelda game.

“I'm sure we will keep her in mind when thinking about future titles,” Aonuma said. Linkle's only scheduled appearance so far is in Hyrule Wariror Legends on the 3DS, but it sounds as if this character has been given a great deal of thought and care in design and development.

“I had a chance to give feedback on Linkle during development, but the satisfying action of using a crossbow, which we developed for the spinoff title Link's Crossbow Training, was implemented this time completely by Koei Tecmo. It may feel a little different from other titles in the franchise, but she doesn’t feel out of place at all in the world of the Zelda games.”

Hyrule Warriors Legends launches on the 3DS on March 25, 2016.
