Earlier this month, Nintendo sent a nice surprise to long-time fans in the form of a newly-announced remake of the N64 classic, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, for the Nintendo 3DS, and this week series producer Eiji Aonuma shed a bit more light on what to expect from the game’s 3D update.

Speaking in an interview, Aonuma confirmed that while the game will see some updates in the form of changes made to assist those coming into the game for the very first time and gyroscopic controls, he also mentioned that the game may have some slight differences when played on the New Nintendo 3DS when it releases next year.

Though Aonuma didn’t mention details specifically on what will be different, he assured in the interview that visually the game will look the same on both the New Nintendo 3DS and previous 3DS models, he detailed that fans should “please wait for the opportunity to discuss how playing on the New 3DS differs at a later date.” With the New Nintendo 3DS offering an added C-Stick, additional shoulder buttons, and improved 3D effects, it is possible that the game could still benefit from some of the added hardware benefits of the new handheld model.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D will release for the Nintendo 3DS in Spring 2015.
