Elden Ring provides players with a diverse set of weapons that players can choose based on their play style. For those looking for a stylistic, quick-hitting DPS build, Twinblades are a solid option overall. Twinblades are often used as two-handed or as power-stance weapons. Given the high Attack Rating for all Twinblades, they are best used to inflict status buildup.

There are only six Twinblade weapons in Elden Ring. This ranking considers the efforts that go into finding them, their usefulness in PvE and PvP, and how adaptable they might be to different builds. In this article, we've ranked all the Twinblades based on their overall strengths.

6 Twinblade

The Twinblade is found in a chest inside the Dragon-Burnt Ruins — these ruins are on the southern edge of Agheel Lake in Limgrave. The Twinblade is the “default” weapon for the Twinblade class of weapons. Like most Twinblades, the Weapon Skill is Spinning Slash, allowing the user to spin the blade in successive strikes before landing a final vertical blow. This is not an especially effective skill, so imbuing Ashes of War according to player preference is advisable.

The Strength requirement is 10, and the Dexterity requirement is 18 — the Strength and Dexterity scalings are both D. This weapon is the second lightest weapon in its class at 7 pounds. The Twinblade is also average in length for its class. The Twinblade can also be upgraded, increasing the damage output and catering the damage scaling to player preference. However, the damage scaling on the Twinblade is the lowest of every other weapon in its class.

5 Twinned Knight Swords

The Twinned Knight Swords are found at the East Windmill Pasture on the Altus Plateau; as such, they are a mid-game find. The Twinned Knight Swords are the slightly-upgraded version of the Twinblade. Like most Twinblades, the Weapon Skill is Spinning Slash, but players should consider imbuing Ashes of War according to their preference.

The Strength requirement is 16, and the Dexterity requirement is 18 — the Strength scaling is D, and the Dexterity scaling is E. Given the damage scaling, this weapon does marginally more damage than the Twinblades. This weapon is the second heaviest weapon in its class at 8 pounds. The Twinned Knight Swords can also be upgraded, increasing the damage output and catering the damage scaling to player preference.

4 Gargoyle’s Black Blades

The Gargoyle’s Black Blades are dropped after the fight with Black Blade Kindred in the Forbidden Lands. This is very far into the game, making the weapon fairly limited once players have it. The Gargoyle’s Black Blades inflict the most damage of its class; however, some of that damage is Holy, which is resisted by late-game bosses. Like most Twinblades, the Weapon Skill is Spinning Slash, but this weapon cannot be infused with Ashes of War.

The Strength requirement is 18, the Dexterity requirement is 15, and the Faith requirement is 22 — the Strength scaling is C, the Dexterity scaling is E, and the additional Faith scaling is D. Even when fully upgraded, the Faith scaling is still D, so Strength will still be the dominant stat for players using this Twinblade. This weapon is the heaviest weapon in its class at 8.5 pounds. Unfortunately, the Gargoyle’s Black Blades also has the shortest length of its class. The Gargoyle’s Black Blades can also be upgraded with Somber Stones, limiting the overall versatility of the weapon. Overall, this Twinblade is strong in overall damage but otherwise limited in most other respects.

3 Gargoyle’s Twinblade

Gargoyles Twinblade in Elden Ring

The Gargoyle’s Twinblade is dropped after the bossfight with the Valiant Gargoyles at the Siofra Aqueduct, which is fairly far into the game. The Gargoyle’s Twinblade inflicts some of the best damage of its class, especially for Strength builds. Like most Twinblades, the Weapon Skill is Spinning Slash, but players should consider imbuing Ashes of War according to their preference.

The Strength requirement is 18, and the Dexterity requirement is 15; the Strength scaling is C, and the Dexterity scaling is E. Like Gargoyle’s Black Blades, this weapon is the heaviest and shortest of its class. The Gargoyle’s Twinblade can also be upgraded, increasing the damage output and catering the damage scaling to player preference; this weapon also has the highest attack rating in most cases, making it ideal for inflicting status buildup.

2 Godskin Peeler

The Godskin Peeler is dropped after the bossfight with the Godskin Apostle at Windmill Village on the Altus Plateau. For a mid-game drop, the Godskin Peeler is an excellent weapon to acquire. The Godskin Peeler has a unique Weapon Skill: Black Flame Tornado. This Skill conjures a magical tornado while the Tarnished spins the Godskin Peeler, ultimately landing a powerful strike on the ground. Although this weapon can be infused with Ashes of War, the unique Skill is nonetheless worth keeping.

The Strength requirement is 17, and the Dexterity requirement is 22; the Strength scaling is E, and the Dexterity scaling is C. This weapon is the second heaviest and second shortest of its class. The Godskin Peeler can also be upgraded, increasing the damage output and catering the damage scaling to player preference. This weapon also has the highest Occult and Keen scaling, making it ideal for Dexterity and/or Arcane builds.

1 Eleonora’s Poleblade

Player using Eleonora's Poleblade one-handed

Eleonora’s Poleblade is found after the fight with Eleonora, Violet Bloody Finger, at the Second Church of Marika on the Altus Plateau. Similar to the other drops on the Altus Plateau, this is a fantastic weapon to attain during the mid-game.

Eleonora’s Poleblade has a unique, highly effective Weapon Skill: Bloodblade Dance. This Skill unleashes a flurry of blows that renders the user both extremely deadly and highly mobile.

The Strength requirement is 12, the Dexterity requirement is 21, and the Arcane requirement is 19; the Strength scaling is E, and the Dexterity and Arcane scalings are D. This weapon is the lightest and second longest of its class. Eleonora’s Poleblade also has a Passive bleed buildup of 55, making it the only Twinblade with a built-in status effect. The unique R2 is excellent for inflicting bleed buildup, given its highly mobile, quick succession of slashes. Although it does not have the highest base or scaled damage, the unique moves and bleeding damage of Eleonora’s Poleblade make it the best Twinblade in Elden Ring.
