The Converted Tower is a location in Elden Ring's Liurnia that is home to a magical puzzle and a piece of rare loot, one of the rare Memory Stones that allow you to increase your spell and incantation slots.
You can solve this puzzle in a conventional way, or you can just use some deft jumping to bypass it entirely and grab the stone anyway. In this guide, we'll show you how you can get straight to the goods, and even better, there are no monsters to fight.
Location
The Converted Tower is located in Western Liurnia on the high range above the flooded zone beneath. Conveniently, it has a Site Of Grace right outside it, called Converted Tower. If you're new to the zone and haven't already reached this area, the best way to get here is to ride up the shore below until you find a Spiritspring that you can use to launch you onto the higher level. The tower is located in a pretty peaceful area, so you won't have any trouble reaching it.
The Puzzle
When you enter the tower through the main entrance on the ground floor, you will see a candle-lit statue and some writing on the floor, reading 'Erudition Guide Thee!'. This is the puzzle, and the conventional way of solving it requires the use of the Erudition emote, which is only obtainable by giving an Academy Glintstone Key to Thops at the Church Of Irith. But since finding Academy Keys is so hard, and you need to keep the first one you find for yourself, the much easier way is to circumvent the puzzle by climbing the tower. Climbing the Tower
Go back outside the Tower, and you will see a crumbling circular wall that surrounds it. You can climb this on foot from either the left or right side. You might find a Marionette Soldier wandering around behind the Tower with a Bow, so keep an eye out in case it tries to attack.
You should climb the wall and follow it round to the back of the Tower until you can see a ledge and an opening into the Tower. From here, you must mount Torrent and use its double jump to jump from the wall to the ledge. Once you make the jump, dismount and follow the stairs up around the tower until you reach the room at the top.
The Memory Stone
Simply open the treasure chest here to claim your reward, a Memory Stone. Before leaving the Tower, you can also find a Magic Grease between the tower and the circular wall. There are no additional benefits from completing the puzzle correctly, so there's no need to come back here if you ever get the emote.
