Scarlet Rot is quite common in Elden Ring as many enemies, bosses, and even the environment can inflict it, and there is no shortage of swamps swarming with this deadly red poison. Due to how quickly it can kill, it is important to carry items capable of curing it, whether it be a consumable, spell, or incantation attuned for emergencies.

Consumables

Speckled Hardtear and Preserving Boluses consumables, Elden Ring

Consumables are generally the go-to items for countering most status afflictions, and there are a few consumables that cure Scarlet Rot outright. The first item that will be of great use to you is Speckled Hardtear, which can be added to the Flask of Wonderous Physick to cure any affliction as well as boost immunity. This tear will come in handy for curing Scarlet Rot, but it will also help you greatly against bosses like Mohg, Lord of Blood -- for he will deal a significant amount of bleed damage.

The Speckled Hardtear is obtained by defeating the Wormface boss at the Altus Plateau Minor Erdtree. Preserving Boluses is another consumable that can cure Scarlet Rot and alleviate its buildup. This consumable might be a better alternative than the last, as they can easily be found along your travels. However, what makes the Preserving Boluses even more effective is that they can be crafted using Armorer's Cookbook [6].

The Armorer's Cookbook [6] can be found in the Siofra River West from the Siofra River Bank Site of Grace. The materials needed to craft Preserving Boluses are 2 Dewkissed Herba, a Crystal Cave Moss, and a Sacramental Bud.

Soap can also be used against Scarlet Rot. If your character is covered in Scarlet Rot, poison, or any other kind of affliction, using soap will stop the buildup. However, soap cannot cure such afflictions.

Incantations

Flame Cleanse Me and Law Of Regression Incantations, Elden Ring

Flame Cleanse Me is an immensely versatile incantation, as it can cure Poison and Scarlet Sot easily while only requiring 12 Faith to use. This incantation is immensely helpful when traversing the Lake of Rot or against any enemies that use poison or Scarlet Rot -- as it only costs 14 FP and is cast fairly quickly.

For those of you looking to add the Flame Cleanse Me incantation to your build, you can find it at the Fire Monk Camp.

Law of Regression is another useful incantation for countering Scarlet Rot, as it heals all ailments and dispels all special effects from both allies and enemies. This spell requires 37 Intelligence to use and is obtained from the Golden Order Principia prayerbook. Law of Regression is a great incantation for healing all sorts of things at the cost of 55 FP. There is more to this spell than meets the eye since it not only cures status effects but also can reveal secrets. It costs a lot more than Flames Cleanse Me but does more than just cure Scarlet Rot, which is the tradeoff. An expensive alternative for Intelligence users but a very interesting spell.
