The beginning of Elden Ring can feel a bit overwhelming. There are a number of powerful early-game weapons scattered throughout Limgrave, and it can be thrilling to stumble across a cool new weapon you didn't expect, but it could take hours to come across your ideal weapon naturally.

When you already have a build in mind, you want to get the right gear as soon as possible. If you're interested in trying out a Bleed build, Reduvia is a powerful Bleed dagger, and it can be found in the first few minutes after stepping out of the tutorial cave.

Reduvia: Great Early Game Bleed Weapon

Jagged dagger with a distinctive curved blade. Used by the noble servants of the Lord of Blood. This dagger rips the flesh as it enters, inflicting blood loss with sickening efficacy. A proud testament to the success of its vicious design, this weapon is perpetually coated in blood.

Reduvia is a fantastic weapon to grab in your first hour into the game. Using Reduvia’s weapon skill, Reduvia Blood Blade, sends out an arc of blood a short distance, allowing you to damage enemies and apply some Blood loss buildup while remaining outside of melee range. The dagger’s light (R1) and heavy (R2) attacks cause additional Blood Loss buildup as well. The weapon scales primarily off of Dexterity and Arcane, and it requires 5 Strength, 13 Dexterity, and 13 Arcane to wield properly. If you’re eager to focus on Bleed damage throughout your journey through the Lands Between, you’ll likely want to prioritize these stats—along with Vigor for health and Endurance as needed.

Where To Find Reduvia

  • First, make sure to follow the golden path until you reach the Gatefront site of grace and receive Torrent, your loyal spirit steed, from Melina.
    • While you’re here, you’ll want to pick up your first map fragmentLimgrave, West—just a few steps to the east on the main path through Gatefront Ruins.
  • Return to the Church of Elleh and ride east until you reach a large body of water—Agheel Lake.
  • Head to the northeast section of Agheel Lake.
  • You might trigger Flying Dragon Agheel to land at the lake, but as long as you don’t ride into his aggro range, you can safely return later to defeat him. If you do draw his attention, feel free to continue northeast—he'll eventually lose interest.

  • In the northeast section of Agheel Lake, you’ll find a bridge spanning the pass overhead and a river running beneath the bridge. Follow the river north.
  • Beware of the skeleton warriors dangling from the bridge as they will drop down as you pass under them. You could ride past them, but it’s risky; they might complicate your battle for Reduvia. Same goes for the stray dragonfly buzzing around.
  • Continue up the river. Torrent will eventually vanish beneath you, and you won’t be able to re-summon him.
  • You'll spot a fog wall ahead and to your left, blocking your path into Murkwater Cave.
  • After a few moments, you will be invaded by Bloody Finger Nerijus from the north end of the river.

Battle Bloody Finger Nerijus

Elden Ring player's world being invaded by enemy player.

Some players have an easy time defeating Nerijus, while others struggle to stay alive more than a few moments. He’s an extremely aggressive enemy, and in the first few hours of the game, his attacks can quickly take out your whole health bar if you’re not careful.

  • Mind your spacing. Keep strafing slightly outside of his combat range in between attacks.
  • If you see an opening, capitalize on it. Nerijus staggers easily, so you can get a few blows in after landing a hit.
  • Make sure to keep enough stamina to roll out of range before he recovers.
  • Beware the Reduvia Blood Blade skill spam. Nerijus will use the weapon skill if you stray too far out of melee range, usually in a two-attack burst. These attacks can quite suddenly kill you if you’re not careful with your HP, so top off with a Crimson Flask if you find yourself low on health.

If you’re finding the battle with Nerijus especially frustrating, one strategy is to run away until he despawns, then grab the site of grace in Murkwater Cave near where you were first invaded. The blocking fog wall will vanish once the invasion is over. This will allow you a much shorter run-back for subsequent battles with Nerijus, reducing frustration.

Bloody Finger Hunter Yura Joins The Fight

Elden Ring player battling Bloody Finger invader.
  • After you’ve exchanged a few blows with Nerijus, you’ll soon see a notification pop up at the bottom of your screen: Bloody Finger Hunter Yura was summoned.
  • Important: you need to engage in combat with Nerijus in order for Yura to be summoned. If you simply run away, Nerijus will eventually despawn and Yura will not be summoned.
  • Yura spawns near the bridge you passed under to the south.
  • If you’re feeling pressed, run toward Yura so he can enter battle more quickly.
  • Once Yura joins the fray, your invader should be easier to handle.
  • Nerijus will almost always aggro on the most recent person to strike him, so try to trade blows back and forth with Yura to bring Nerijus down with ease.

After Bloody Finger Nerijus is defeated, you will be rewarded with Reduvia.
