Elden Ring, the latest game by FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment, debuted earlier this summer at E3 2019. While the long-rumored project in collaboration with Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin was finally brought to light though, gameplay of the title wasn't shown at E3. That said, this might be changing this month at Gamescom, at least for a select few.

According to Russian site Igromania, Bandai Namco is planning to bring Elden Ring to Gamescom. However, if you're attending the show for yourself as a fan, there's a good chance you won't be able to see it. The report says that Bandai will only be showing off Elden Ring behind-closed-doors, likely to members of the press.

It's important to note that none of this is confirmed just yet, but it wouldn't be a surprise if this happened to be true. Even though a release window for Elden Ring hasn't been confirmed yet, it's assumed by many to release next year in 2020. As such, showing off some brief gameplay to certain folks privately around Gamescom would make sense.

Personally, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that if Bandai Namco does indeed take Elden Ring to Gamescom, they'll share something with those watching from home, too. This is likely wishful thinking, but Elden Ring might just be my most anticipated upcoming release and I'm dying to see what it'll look like. Let's hope this comes to fruition.

We'll keep you posted in the future if Bandai Namco has anything specific to say about its plans for Gamescom, which takes place from August 20 to the 24th.

Elden Ring is set to arrive on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
