Elden Ring Steam reviews temporarily deleted: Theories

Several Elden Ring fans, myself included, confirmed that the Steam page for the game went from thousands of customer reviews to zero reviews listed for several hours on February 24 night EST. As if all reviews were deleted or hidden for a few hours.

Now that the reviews came back, you can confirm that a good chunk of them are very negative because several players are reporting performance issues, most notably a freezing/game stuttering issue. Moreover, it looks like the freezing problem can trigger regardless of your PC's specs and in-game graphics configuration.

In the game's open-world, there are several instances where the game freezes for a few microseconds. Some players don't mind it, but many find it incredibly annoying, breaking their immersion. You can spot the issue in this video.

Players theorized this is due to the game loading assets. The problem varies from player to player, and some of the French Elden Ring PC players I've spoken to aren't encountering the issue at all.

Elden Ring is getting review bombed due to game stuttering issue on PC

Elden Ring is getting review bombed on Steam due to this game stuttering issue. It's possible the reviews were temporarily hidden because Valve potentially deleted some of them to cushion the review bombing.

Furthermore, FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have yet to communicate on the issue as I'm writing this. Hence why fans are so disappointed and angry with the PC version of Elden Ring. Because no one knows when a fix patch will be coming. What do you all think of the situation? Tell me in the comments below!
