While Steam Deck seems to be a pretty solid platform based on the multiple reviews from the media, some games might need additional optimization for running smoothly on Valve's new gaming device.

Elden Ring Will Be Further Optimized for Steam Deck in Almost a Week

According to Pierre-Loup Griffais, a developer from Valve, the technical team behind Steam Deck is trying its best to optimize Elden Ring for the handheld platform and wipe out the stuttering and frame-drop issues.

Apparently, a new Proton release is supposed to arrive next week, and with that, a majority of the stuttering problem is expected to be solved. The exact release date is yet to be known, but it will be available by Sunday in the worst-case scenario.

Also, Griffais revealed that the update is currently available in beta mode and the team is just waiting for the full release for all players.

Many Steam Deck owners are expected to receive their gaming device today, but if you wouldn't get yours in the coming days, it probably means your device will be delivered during the second batch of distribution.

Steam Deck is supposed to support a majority of games on Steam, and it already comes available with over 100 games optimized for the gaming device. More games are supposed to be added to this list in the near future.

Elden Ring is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.
