Earlier today, Bandai Namco deployed a new patch for Elden Ring, bringing the game to version 1.07 with a long list of balance changes and bug fixes. Following the release of the new update, data miners quickly discovered new game files that suggest two new maps and a ray-tracing feature could be in the works.A Twitter user by the name of Sennoutantei began digging through the game files to see what was new in patch 1.07. They quickly discovered new lines of text for a ray-tracing feature, suggesting that the feature is currently being worked on by the developers. However, one important thing to note is, just because game files suggest a feature is being worked on, doesn't necessarily mean it will ever see the light of day.READ MORE: PS Plus Premium, Extra October 2022 Update Includes Lots of Assassin's Creed and YakuzaAlongside a possible ray-tracing feature, the in-game files also suggest that two new maps could be on the way, possibly in the form of a DLC expansion. Twitter user Lance McDonald pointed out that the latest Elden Ring update "also includes references to two new maps that do not yet otherwise exist in the game data".This was then followed up with a quote-retweet from Elden Ring data miner, Sekirodubi, who said, "The new maps are m20, and m45... m20 has same numbering as Legacy dungeons, m45 is brand new... Dynamic Loading Casting. For reference m10 is Stormveil, m11 Leyndell, ... m19 is stone platform".

Again, this doesn't necessarily confirm that new maps are coming to Elden Ring, as the files could even be from previously cut content. With that being said, this isn't the first hint at an Elden Ring DLC. Earlier this year a video was published by Lance McDonald showcasing the inside of a Colosseum within the game that is currently inaccessible. Lance suggested that it could be for an upcoming DLC - possibly revolving around PvP - but whether or not the content of the two leaks is related is unknown.
