Elden Ring Won't be Appearing at Tokyo Game Show
It looks like we'll be waiting a little bit longer to learn more about Elden Ring.
Since its initial reveal earlier this year at E3 2019, many have been dying to see and learn more about FromSoftware’s next project in Elden Ring. Unfortunately, after being a no-show this past week at Gamescom, it seems the game won’t be making an appearance at Tokyo Game Show, either.
Publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment recently released the list of games that it’ll be showing off at TGS this year and Elden Ring was sadly nowhere to be seen. Instead, other upcoming releases such as Code Vein and Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot seem to be what will be getting some of the most attention from Bandai Namco this year.
Considering Elden Ring didn’t appear at Gamescom, perhaps this shouldn’t be too surprising that it wouldn’t also pop up at Tokyo Game Show. Still, with TGS being one of the last major gaming conventions for the year, it seems as though time is running out for us to see much else about Elden Ring before the end of the year. While Bandai Namco could always opt to release new information or footage out of nowhere, it does seem less likely.
If I had to take a guess though, The Game Awards, which will be happening this December, seems like a good place where we could finally see more of Elden Ring. FromSoftware has previously participated in this event when they revealed the first teaser for what became Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. If we’re lucky, maybe this time around they’ll bring along some gameplay footage for Elden Ring.
For now, the most we know about Elden Ring release-wise is that it’ll be coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC. A release window for the game still hasn’t been given, but 2020 does seem like it could be a possibility.
Thanks to Gematsu for the heads up.
