Since its launch, The Elder Scrolls Online has brought players all over the fantastical world of Nirn. However, the game's next expansion will move off that planet, off that plane of existence, into another much more sinister one. Players in The Elder Scrolls Online will soon be able to explore the mythical realm of Oblivion, home of Mehrunes Dagon.
Officially titled Gates of Oblivion, the expansion was revealed during last night's Game Awards in a cinematic trailer. In it, a rune that symbolizes the Hellish plane of Oblivion is burned onto an elf's book before they themselves are transported into the plane. There, they see the towering demon Mehrunes Dagon, the demon lord of Oblivion.
Older fans of The Elder Scrolls franchise may be feeling nostalgic right about now. The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion had players venture into the firey plane and ended with the defeat of Dagon by the Emperor of Tamriel, Martin Septim.
The Elder Scrolls Online - Gates of Oblivion is set to launch sometime in 2021.
