During a livestreamed interview part of YouTube live’s E3 coverage, Bethesda’s Todd Howard talked a little more about The Elder Scrolls VI and Starfield.

Howard confirmed that The Elder Scrolls VI is in “pre-production” while StarField is in production. The team has been working for it on a while. While Starfield is playable internally, The Elder Scrolls VI is “not in that way yet.”

A couple of years ago, Howard mentioned that the technology wasn’t there yet for what he wanted to achieve with The Elder Scrolls VI. Now, “it’s getting closer.”

The teaser released yesterday is supposed to represent the “tone” of the game, giving an idea of how the game feels and hints on where it’s set (and this goes for Starfield as well). Howard confirmed that “there are some things to pick apart” in the teaser, but he’ll let the fans do that.
