Elite: Dangerous Goes Into Beta 3

Frontier Developments today has launched Elite: Dangerous Beta 3, bringing a tons of new content and features to the game as the developers move closer to release.

The third stage of Elite: Dangerous’ Beta test has unlocked even more of the real Milky Way and introduced long-awaited features like multiple ship ownership and mining. Philanthropy missions, fuel scooping from stars, asteroid mining, new ships, play area expanded to over 2,400 systems and 869,000 cubic light years of playable space and several visual improvements being chief among the improvement.

Elite: Dangerous‘ Beta 3 is available to play now for $75 through Frontier’s online store, with a discount for existing backers of the full game is applied on checkout. The pre-order exclusive Elite: Dangerous Mercenary Edition includes an additional Eagle fighter, ship liveries, decals and other digital goodies for $50, discounting the game from its final $59.99 price tag for when the game releases in Q4 of this year.
