End of the Rainbow–OZombie Kickstarter Cancelled for Sake of Alice Rights Campaign

In a very surprising new update, American McGee has decided to end the OZombie campaign prematurely for two main reasons: for the sake of the Alice rights Kickstarter McGee and Spicy Horse wants to start and because of the OZombie campaign fund stagnation.

Concerning Alice, McGee stated:

First, we’re facing a challenge with the Alice film rights. Since working to remove it from the Oz campaign we’ve been unable to launch it as a separate campaign here on Kickstarter – the submission has been rejected multiple times and our appeals have failed (multiple campaigns are not allowed). To launch a campaign for the Alice films rights means we must first shut down the Oz campaign.

He also said that OZombie was only at 10 percent of their goal and, at the current funding rate, it would have increased to about 30 percent by the end of the Kickstarter. The team realized that they could always start a new OZombie Kickstarter but the window of opportunity for acquiring the rights for Alice is quickly closing.

Hopefully once American McGee and Spicy Horse settle the matter of Alice, they can successfully restart the OZombie Kickstarter without too many hitches.
