Today Sega released the Battle Trial Version 2.0 demo of Valkyria: Azure Revolution, that will launch in Japan on January 19th.

The demo is available only for PS4, and is free to download for everyone who purchased Valkyria Chronicles Remastered‘s Japanese version and unlocked the Battle Trial 1.0. If you are one of those, you can grab it here. Sega also distributed invitations with a download code at Tokyo Game show, but if you don’t have one, you won’t be able to try the new demo.

In that case, don’t worry, as you’ll at least be able to get a good look at it below. We recorded about an hour of the three missions available, including¬†a quick look at the headquarters, and we went trigger-happy snapping 247 screenshots.

Incidentally, the gameplay improved quite a lot from the first demo, with the new battle palette that stops time as you select your actions changing the feel of combat completely, bringing it closer to the original series.

And yes, the third mission with the boss fight against Brunhild is extremely difficult, as you’ll probably notice in the last video.¬†It’s probably set to be fought at a much higher level than I did.

You can check out all the videos and screenshots below.
