With the release of Enter the Gungeon's new Advanced Gungeons & Draguns update right around the corner, developer Dodge Roll Games took to Twitter to show off a sneak preview of one of the game's updated weapons. Fans of a certain space bounty hunter may find this weapon familiar, as the updated weapon pays homage to Metroid's Samus Aran.

Aptly titled The Heroine, the weapon showed off in Dodge Roll Games' Twitter post is not entirely new to Enter the Gungeon. Described by the game's Ammonomicon as "the arm of a famous bounty hunter," The Heroine was available in earlier versions of Enter the Gungeon, however, its previous incarnation didn't include the Plasma Beam, Wave Beam, or Ice Beam.

New weapons are just one of the additions that Dodge Roll has promised with its upcoming Advanced Gungeons & Draguns update. The developer stated that the forthcoming update will also include new items, enemies, synergies, rooms, and more.

As Metroid Prime 4 was notoriously absent from Nintendo's E3 Direct, Enter the Gungeon's forthcoming update seems to be the only way players will be able to use Samus' arm cannon for the foreseeable future. For those interested in a tough roguelike with a loveable cast of characters, Enter the Gungeon is now available on PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. The game's Advanced Gungeons & Draguns update is scheduled to be released on July 19th.
