The Lord hath answered all of my roguelike prayers. Special Reserve Games announced that it will be producing a physical release of Dodge Roll Games’ Enter the Gungeon exclusively for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

Announced through a post on Special Reserve Games’ Twitter account, the PlayStation 4 release will be sequentially numbered and include a reversible cover. Additionally, the game will be released alongside a real-life Ammonomicon, the book in the game that details all of Enter the Gungeon‘s items, enemies, and guns.

Special Reserve Games has not announced prices for the newly announced products, nor has it announced whether or not the Ammonomicon will be available without purchasing the physical game. Replying to a comment on Twitter, Special Reserve Games stated, “We’re looking into likely selling Ammonomicons on their own.”

Of course, since this is 2018, lots of Twitter users asked Special Reserve Games whether or not a Switch physical release was on the horizon. Surprisingly, it seems so, with Special Reserve Games telling Switch fans, “after this one comes out we’re gonna do one for you!” It’s unclear when the Nintendo Switch version will be formally announced as well as whether it will include the Ammonomicon.

The physical release of Enter the Gungeon has been in the pipeline for quite some time. Early last month Dodge Roll Games employee Dave Crooks stated on Twitter that the company was working on a physical release of the game. Just a few days ago on August 22nd, the ESRB ascribed the game with a rating, prompting rumors that the game would be given a getting a retail release. Of course, vindicated by Special Reserve Games’ recent announcement, these rumors turned out to be true.

No information regarding the physical release’s price or release date has been announced. Enter the Gungeon is currently available on PC, Mac, Linux, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
