Epic Games has announced the opening of a new studio in Maryland called Impossible Studios. The studio was founded in June and has a focus on real-time strategy and role playing games and software.

Impossible’s first game will be the touch based role playing game, Infinity Blade: Dungeons for the iOS. The game is a collaborative project between Epic and ChAIR. The studio includes many of the former Big Huge Games employees that worked on games such as Catan for LIVE Arcade, Rise of Nations, and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

Later in the year Infinity Blade: Dungeons will be released and a panel for the game will be at Dragon Con in Atlanta on August 31. Fans of Infinity Blade and Kingdoms of Amalur will have something to be excited for later this year and this is great news for the employes of the developer that got caught up in the big huge financial mess of 38 Studios.
