The Epic Games store PAX West 2019 showcase is, unsurprisingly, full of exclusives. The eight games it's composed of are Ooblets, No Straight Roads, Manifold Garden, Superliminal, Wattam, The Alto Collection, Airborne Kingdom, and The Eternal Cylinder.

More than one of these titles saw significant controversy when they were announced to be an Epic Games store exclusive. The backlash against Ooblets developer Glumberland was especially nasty. Those upset by Epic Games store exclusivity make it very well known, which prompted a tongue-in-cheek announcement from creators Rebecca Cordingley and Ben Wasser. This only served to further exacerbate angry gamers, who took the duo's suggestions for more important things to be upset about as a minimalization of their woes.

These wounds are still open and very sore judging from the like-dislike ratio on the showcase. It doesn't look like that'll stop Epic from scooping up games anytime soon, though. Apart from these eight titles, Ubisoft's The Settlers was recently revealed as an Epic Games store exclusive.

It's important to note that the eight titles forming the showcase aren't all PC exclusives. To be an Epic Games store exclusive simply means to only be available at that digital marketplace on PC. Games like Ooblets are still available through different marketplaces on consoles.

PAX West 2019 takes place at the Washington State Convention Center from Aug. 30 to Sept. 2.
