Epic Games to Unveil New IP at GDC 2011

Epic Games, the studio behind Unreal Tournament, Gears of War, and Bulletstorm are set to make a huge announcement at GDC 2011. This huge announcement will be a new game unrelated to any of Epic Games current offerings. The studio hopes to establish future games and IPs with their new game, as Cliff Bleszinski stated in an interview with EGM.

“Gamers vote with their dollars and they often like established IPs, but those IPs came from somewhere, right? Call of Duty was crafted by the original Medal of Honor guys. Gears of War was crafted by the original Unreal Tournament guy. I look forward to creating what’s next.”

No other information was given about the title, except that it will be bigger, badder, and more bad-ass. I kid, I kid.

An avid gamer since birth, I consider myself a new-age gamer. My first system was the N64, but the first system I really cared about was my Xbox Original. I'm a computer science major in college, and spend all my money on games, and stuff I don't need. I've never played Zelda or many Mario games in my youth. I'm also a huge sports fan, and a chick flick lover. My favorite games include Gears of War, Halo, Fallout, GTA, Mass Effect, and Metal Gear Solid.
