With Escape From Tarkov's big 0.13 update launching in the final days of 2022, Battlestate Games did announce a new Twitch Drops event from December 29, 2022, until January 7, 2023, but before the event could come to an end, the developer's Twitch account was banned, leaving the studio unable to fulfil its plans.
While you can still earn Twitch Drops by watching Escape From Tarkov streams from select content creators, the developer's own plans for daily streams are completely interrupted now. Based on the roadmap of the event, Battlestate Games had planned at least three streams for each day until January 7, but now it seems those plans should either be scrapped or at least get delayed.
Visiting the Twitch page of the studio simply states the violation of the platform's rules as the reason behind the ban, but it remains unknown which rule has exactly been violated here. There is no clue about when we can see the Russian developers back on Twitch once again.
As Insider Gaming mentions, there are a couple of behaviors that could lead the studio to this untimely ban. Apparently, in one of the streams, the developers have pointed replications of in-game guns at each other, which could be counted as an example of spreading violence in a stream. Moreover, it is said that a developer was clearly drunk during a stream, which is also another thing that Twitch wouldn't forgive without punishing.
Overall, Twitch bans do occur to many well-known content creators sometimes, and it usually doesn't last too long, but it rarely happens to accounts belonging to official developers or publishers, which is an unfortunate event for Battlestate Games in this case, as the ban somehow ruined their plans for upcoming days.
It's worth noting that since the new update and Twitch Drops event went live, Escape From Tarkov did manage to set a new viewership record on Twitch, which can probably tune down the bitterness of Battlestate's ban on the platform. Aside from launching a new update, Battlestate Games also revealed the first in-game screenshot from the upcoming Arena mode recently, which makes 2023 an exciting year for the game's community.
